Funerals

St. Peter the Apostle Parish will help you through the most difficult time in your life when you have to bid farewell. As Catholics, we believe in the resurrection, and we have the hope that one day we will see our dearly departed once again. Our funeral liturgy is one of remembrance and hope.

St. Peter the Apostle Parish will accept funerals for all parishioners and those who are related to St. Peter’s in some way. St. Peter’s funerals are Tuesday through Saturday at 9:30 AM. During the school year while Religious Education classes are held Saturday mornings, we do make an exception and a Saturday funeral may be held as late as 10:30 AM. Since the Church requests that we “bury the dead” as a respect to the body, if you choose cremation, please know that the remains must be buried.

You may choose to plan the funeral by meeting with our liturgist, Carol Schubert, ext. 201, and our music director, Andrzej Ciupek, ext. 207. At the meeting, you will be asked to make the following decisions: Please see the links to the Readings and the Song Choices.

 Funeral Fees

  • Church $125
  • Organist: $100
  • Cantor: $75
  • Altar Servers: $10 + $10

If you request another priest instead of the pastor, Fr. Slawek, it will be up to the family to give that priest a stipend.

Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their soul, and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen
