The Religious Education Program of St. Peter the Apostle is a ministry that forms the children of the parish in our Catholic faith who attend public or non-Catholic private schools. The RE program is staffed by one full-time professional children's religious education programmer, one office administrator, thirty adults holding Diocesan catechist certification and two high school aides.

During class time, children begin with the traditional prayers followed by praying one decade of the rosary. Class continues with a study of the next day’s Sunday Gospel reading along with any Catholic doctrine that pertains to the lectionary reading. We conclude our classes with an experience of lectio divino, a time to reflect on the words of the lectionary that lead us to a personal communication with God.

Every few weeks we have all-grade celebrations that focus our attention to church Holy Days or seasons. Anyone wanting to help the Church pass on its faith to a new generation and loves working with children, please call the Director of Religious Education, Angela Scanlon at 630-773-1272 x216. Training is available for all interested on various days and times.
